“I am glad the work of the Timms review found that the current assessment system and points based criteria are dehumanising, harmful and counterproductive.
“It shows that the Government’s previous proposals were as misconceived as many MPs alongside Disabled People’s Groups were saying a year ago.
“However, while the Department for Work and Pensions is being forced to find cuts, and while the Timms Review can only operate within a strict spending limit, the review remains fatally flawed and will never be able to deliver real help that enables sick and Disabled people to thrive, whether or not they are able to work.”
